2010 Annual Broadway Cabaret and Silent Auction

Scotts Valley Performing Arts (SVPA) presents our fourth annual Broadway Cabaret, a celebration of Performing Arts on Saturday, February 27th.  This song and dance extravaganza begins at 7:30 p. m. at the Bethany University Community Theater, 800 Bethany Drive in Scotts Valley.  Tickets will be available through Seat Yourself and a limited number at the door.

Youth Shakespeare Program

A Midsummer Night' Dream

Shakespeare's much loved magical comedy comes to Scotts Valley this summer performed by SVPA's Youth Shakespeare's program. This whimsical tale of confused lovers, mistaken identities, a fairy king and queen accompanied by loyal minions, comical acting troupes, misapplied love potions and so much more will be sure to delight audiences of all ages. The show will include live Renaissance music performed by harpist Alexandra Romanoff, along with contemporary music performed by DJ Orion. Dance, song, and hilarious antics will round out the lovely language and plot of one of Shakespeare's most highly acclaimed plays. The show runs from July 9 - 11th. You won't want to miss it.

Into the Woods

Scotts Valley Performing Arts is pleased to present Into the Woods as our 2010 Fall Musical offering.  Featuring music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by James Lapine, this perennial favorite won several Tony Awards upon its 1987 debut, including Best Score, Best Book, and Best Actress in a Musical (Joanna Gleason).  It has been produced regularly since then, including a 1988 national tour, a 1990 West End production, a 1991 television production, a 1997 tenth anniversary concert, a 2002 Los Angeles production and a 2002 Broadway revival.
