A Victorian Christmas

Date:    December 9, 2011
Location:   Scotts Valley Community Center, 360 Kings Village Road, Scotts Valley.
Time:  6:00-10:00pm.  Cocktails- 6:00pm with dinner served between 7:00-7:30pm.

A sumptuous Victorian dining experience paired with exceptional theatrical talent will kick off the Holiday season on December 9, 2011, hosted by the community theatre company, Scotts Valley Performing Arts.

Scotts Valley Performing Arts (SVPA) with the support of the Scotts Valley Arts Commission invites you to spend an evening celebrating a Victorian Christmas with fine food, friends and foppery.  Punches both tame and spirited will be available.  Dinner will include roasted fowl, sumptuous beef, winter vegetables, fresh greens, plum pudding and a proper stuffing.  Vegetarians will be served with a very suitable alternative. For dessert an array of sweets will complement our traditional Victorian Christmas evening!

The donation is a kindly $50 per person advance sales, www.svpaa.org, and an extra $5 bob per person if purchased at the door.

Funds raised will support the 2012 Youth Shakespeare production of Romeo and Juliet and the 2012 Fall musical theatre production. SVPA is also expanding its 3-year school outreach program in 2012 to include a program for elementary schools called Art and Poetry in Motion.  The 1776: A Live Reading program at the Scotts Valley Middle School has been a great success, and we hope to offer it to other Santa Cruz County middle schools.  To answer the question as to why community theatre is important, we look at the individual development of both students and adults alike in advancing key communication skills, building confidence, and inspiring creativity. As school funding sources dwindle, SVPA is stepping in to help fill the void.

Please join us for a very special evening in support of quality community theatre for the whole family.
